Privacy Policy
Your money and your data are personal. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you have, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
1. Who we are
Reevatech Solutions & Consulting Ltd, registration number [RC number], [registered address], operates Vezio and is the data controller for the personal data described here. In this policy, "Vezio", "we" and "us" mean that company. Contact: hello@vezio.ng.
Vezio is a financial technology company, not a bank. Naira wallets are held with Safe Haven Microfinance Bank, and foreign currency accounts are provided by regulated payment partners. Where those partners decide why and how they use your data for their own regulated purposes, they are separately responsible for it under their own privacy notices.
2. What we collect
When you join the early access list
- Your phone number, and anything you choose to send us when you email or message us.
When you open and use a Vezio account
- Identity and contact details: your name, date of birth, phone number, email address and address.
- Verification documents and data: for example your valid international passport and a recent utility bill or bank statement in your name, and the information on them, which we and our partners use to verify who you are.
- Account and transaction data: your balances, payments in and out, conversions, card transactions, beneficiaries, and the details of the people and businesses who pay you or whom you pay.
- Device and usage data: your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, log data and how you use the app, used for security and to keep the service working.
- Communications: your messages to our support, and notes about how we helped.
Much of this comes from you directly. Some comes from our partners and verification providers, and from the senders and recipients of payments. We do not knowingly collect more than we need for the purposes below.
3. How and why we use it
We use your data only where we have a lawful basis under the NDPA:
- To provide the service (contract): to open and run your accounts, process payments and conversions, issue and manage your card, and give you support.
- To meet legal obligations: to verify your identity, carry out anti-money-laundering, counter-terrorism-financing and sanctions checks, keep records, and respond to regulators, courts and law enforcement.
- For our legitimate interests: to detect and prevent fraud and abuse, secure our systems, improve and fix the service, and keep accurate business records, always balanced against your rights.
- With your consent: for example to send you early access and launch messages, or marketing, where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Who we share it with
- Our regulated partners: Safe Haven Microfinance Bank for naira wallets, and the payment, card and banking partners that provide your foreign currency accounts and card.
- Service providers: companies that help us run Vezio, such as identity verification, cloud hosting, messaging and SMS, security and customer support tools. They may use your data only on our instructions.
- Authorities: regulators, tax authorities, courts and law enforcement, where the law requires or allows it.
- Professional advisers and auditors, under confidentiality.
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, sale or reorganisation, with the same protection for your data.
- Other people involved in your payments, such as the sender or recipient, who see the details needed to complete the payment (for example your name and account details).
5. Our website
At the time of writing, our website does not use advertising cookies. When you visit it, your browser connects to our hosting provider and to services that deliver fonts and scripts (including Google Fonts, cdnjs and unpkg), and those services receive technical data such as your IP address. If we add analytics or other cookies, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
6. Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our partners and service providers operate outside Nigeria, and payments to or from foreign accounts necessarily involve other countries. When your data leaves Nigeria we take steps to make sure it stays protected, as the NDPA requires, for example by using providers in places with adequate protection or by putting appropriate contracts and safeguards in place.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Early access phone numbers are kept until you ask us to remove them or until we no longer need them for the launch. Account, identity and transaction records are kept for as long as you have an account and afterwards for the period required by Nigerian law, including anti-money-laundering and financial record-keeping rules, and to handle claims. When we no longer need data, we delete it or anonymise it.
8. How we protect it
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring, and PIN protection for payments and card details. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data and the law requires it, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within the time the law requires. Please also protect your PIN, device and passwords.
9. Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used and ask for a copy of it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data, where we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to it, including to direct marketing;
- receive your data in a commonly used format and ask for it to be passed to another provider, where this applies;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what happened before;
- not be subject to a decision based only on automated processing that significantly affects you, without safeguards.
To use any of these rights, email hello@vezio.ng. We may need to verify your identity first, and some rights are limited where we must keep data to follow the law.
10. Messages from us
If you give us your phone number, we may send you messages about Vezio's launch and early access. Once you have an account, we send service messages such as payment alerts and security notices, which you need to receive. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by contacting us.
11. Children
Vezio is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their data, email us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date and, for important changes, tell you in a suitable way.
13. Contact and complaints
